ELECTRICIAN

COURSE DETAIL

Course Name: Electrician.
Duration:  6 Months.
Type:  MES type short term courses as guidance & directed by L&T.
Course Type:  VTI.

GENERAL DETAILS:

In this trade, the trainees are trained primarily to perform various types the Earthing, Safety, Basic Electricals, Types of Electrical Equipments Operations and Maintenance, Domestic and Industrial Wiring, Usage of Electrical Instruments, Installation and Maintenance of Types of AC -DC Generators & AC, - DC, Motors, Applications of different types of Measurement and Control equipment, different types of Electrical Equipments, uses in industries, like Transformers, motors Control equipment, Star Delta Starters, DOL Starter, Electrical Power Distribution System from generating powerhouse to residence or users tail end Transmission and Distribution system, etc.

So as to impart the most effective training, the theories associated with the practical assignments are thoroughly covered in the classrooms, prior to the commencement of the practical exercises in the workshop. The Electrician Instructors are extremely cautious to avoid any kind of electrical hazard and accident causing injuries in the trade and prevention of damaging the types of machinery.

The experiment performed by each student is evaluated on the basis of steps followed to perform the task, the quality of work done, the time consumed to complete the same, etc. Performing as Skill Electrical Technician is considered to be playing a crucial role in being selected in any formal selection process. Hence, special attention is given to our team of committed instructors for successful service in the curriculum.

ELIGIBILITY

Passed 10th Class examination, under the 10+2 System of education or its equivalent.

ADMISSION PROCESS

a) AGE LIMIT: Any candidate of 14 – 35 years of age as of the date of the start of the admission process is eligible for admission to HMP VTI

b) SELECTION: Selection of candidates for admission to HMP Vocational Training Institute, start well in advance of Two Months in NOV-DEC & MAY- JUN from the commencement of each Training Programme. Admission should be completed by the date of starting the Training Programmes. Where it may be necessary to continue admission beyond the date of commencement of the Training Programme for filling vacant seats.

c) SELECTION OF THE CANDIDATE: Selection of candidates is done by a personal interview conducted by the relevant Instructor of each trade.

d) PROSPECTUS / PROFORMA FOR ADMISSION: Performa for admission may be obtained from the respective HMP Vocational Training Institute conducting the training programs.

e) START OF TRAINING PROGRAMMES: We are conducting two training programmes every year in HMPVTI first training programme starts from JANUARY To JUNE and the second training programme starts from JULY To DECEMBER every year.

Job opportunities after this course

One can pursue higher studies like a Diploma in engineering after completing the engineering trading course in HMP VTI. Many Industries / Companies accept HMP VTI Technicians only as apprentices and they train the candidates for a period of 6 months. However, the period of on-the-job training may vary from one company to the other. These candidates may be considered suitable for employment only after the training period. Renowned HMP VTI has its own placement cell and candidates after the completion of their trades may be directly recruited by the companies.

HMP VTI-qualified candidates can apply for jobs in either the Private Sector or Public Sector, depending on the trades, The large scope in the market to work as Electrician contractors. Many opportunities to get work from many Industries / Companies and Manufacturing Units also. He can manufacture electrical items also.

Last but not least candidates can also be Self-Employed by setting up their own Winding Shops, Electrical Equipment Shops, Fabrication Shops, etc.
